It’s BACK! Epic Recs: January ’15 Edition

So apparently everyone else got the memo about getting this post up yesterday… except me. I was all ready to write it in the afternoon too, except then I got sick. So I’ve been slowly gaining some strength back, drinking a lot of water, and trying to nibble on some crackers.

Nonetheless, I’m absolutely THRILLED that the lovely Jen, Willa, and Vy are starting Epic Recs back up with me. We started this last year but it fell off the wagon a bit because of our insanely busy schedules… but it’s back, it’s here to stay, and it’s going to be a ton of fun.

Epic Recs

Epic Recs was started by Judith and Amber, who created it so they could recommend books to each other! Of course, we had to take it up a notch, so I’m doing this with Jen @ Books and Other Happy Ever Afters, Willa @ Willa’s Ramblings, and Vy @ Vy’s Blog. Each month we recommend a book to someone, and someone recommends a book to me. Shoutout to Vy for creating the Google Docs that keeps who’s doing what in order.

{I was was going to make pretty graphics to go along with this post, but alas, I spent too much time lying on the couch and running to the bathroom. So you’ll have to put up with simple pictures this month.}

Anyways, this month, I recommended a book to Jen, and Willa recommened me a book!

I recommended Jen:
The Darkest Minds

  • The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken: You guys, I just finished the last book of this series and I am SO IN LOVE with this series. The emotion, the characters, gah. The feels are too much. So of course I’m forcing Jen to read this book! I can’t wait for her to be addicted as I still totally am was.

Willa recommended me:
Take Me On Katie McGarry

  • Take Me On by Katie McGarry: I’ve been meaning to read this book for such a long time now. I’ve loved all of Katie McGarry’s previous books, and this book sounds just as amazing as her others! Willa recommending this one to me means I now have an official excuse to buy it. So, of course, thanks Willa. (She also wants me to read Breaking the Rules which I am equally thrilled about!!).

Overall guys, I’m ridiculously excited for Epic Recs to be happening again! You can check out my review of Take Me On at the end of the month. Be sure to check out Jen’s, Willa’s, and Vy’s posts as well to see what they’ll be reading this month!

Have you read either of these books? Do you enjoy recommending/forcing books upong your friends? Do you participate in Epic Recs? Let me know!

  6. Ooh, I really need to pick up The Darkest Minds. I know how much you love the series and I’m pretty sure I have a copy of it on my Kindle so, really, I have no excuse. Plus, the entire trilogy is out so I don’t have to suffer through the cliffhangers for too long. 😉 Great rec, Aneeqah, and I looooove the blog design! 😀
